The Collective is a space for adolescent practitioners to connect, share resources, and inspire one another.
Protect student privacy
When you talk about examples from your environment, do not share a student's personal information — no full name, school, family circumstances, or diagnosis. If you are describing a difficult situation, change identifying details.
Posting photos
If you share photos of your community as examples, those stay on this platform. They are not to be shared outside the Collective.
What is discussed in the Collective stays in the Collective
This is a safe place where practitioners can troubleshoot and help one another. Members share honestly about struggles in their schools and homes. Do not screenshot, forward, or repost what someone writes here without their permission.
Only give advice or guidance when it is asked for
Sometimes people just want to share something they are proud of. Refrain from critiquing or offering feedback when it has not been explicitly asked for.
Uploading materials
Post your own materials freely. Do not upload training manuals, albums, purchased curricula, or copyrighted books that aren't yours to distribute — including AMI course materials. Linking to a source is always safe; uploading a copy often isn't.
Stay Montessori-based, or cite your source
Only share resources and posts that are Montessori based, or backed by science and research. If you share something from another school of education or thought, please cite the source.
Stay true to Montessori philosophy — though modern neuroscience and research-backed principles and work are welcome here.
No selling
This is not a marketplace. Mentioning your own work when it genuinely answers someone's question is fine. Promotional posts, recruitment, and unsolicited pitches are not.
Not a substitute for professional help
Members are educators, not clinicians. If a young person is at risk of harm, contact the appropriate professionals and services where you are — not this forum.
How concerns are handled
If something is amiss, tell us — send a direct message to Jarin, mention @jarinwadiwalla in a post, or contact us. A person reads every one of these.
Direct messages between members are private — we can't read them. If someone is making you uncomfortable there, you can mute them, which stops them messaging you without telling them. If you'd rather we looked at it, use Report inside that conversation and it comes to us.
Most issues are resolved with a quiet conversation. Where something needs more, we may remove the content, ask you to change it, or pause an account. Content that puts a child at risk, or that is illegal, is removed immediately and without warning.
If your membership is paused and you think that's wrong, reply to any email from us and a person will look at it again.
Platform feedback
If you would like to see new functionality in the platform, direct message Jarin Wadiwalla. We have the flexibility to adapt this place to what we actually need.
If you want your account and posts deleted, ask us and we can do that as well.
Your information
Your profile shows the name and picture you choose. Your email address is never shown to other members. Files you upload are visible only to signed-in members, not to the public web or search engines.
Dues
Membership runs on dues, monthly or yearly, and they stay deliberately low. You can switch between the two, or cancel, at any time from Billing inside the Collective — you never need to email us to leave.
Cancelling keeps your access until the period you've already paid for runs out. If a payment fails we pause your membership rather than closing it, and nothing you've posted is deleted; updating your card puts everything back.
One thing before you come in
These guidelines are the whole rulebook. By continuing you're agreeing to hold to them.
